I. Free workshops

During the workshops participants will be working with chosen multimedia tools in a broad sense, emerging outside the main trends and as an important element in the hands of contemporary artists. During free workshops, artists and lecturers are going to introduce to the participants the possibilities offered by new technologies and show how those can be used in practice.
Free workshops are co-finansed by Gmina Miejska Kraków.

11.10.2013 Friday 
place: Sala Audiowizualna at the Bunkier Sztuki

  • 4 pm -6 pm – Graphic programming for not-programmers – PureData, hosted by Popesz Csaba Láng [Hungary]  *language: Polish 

participants will get familiar with graphic programming for non-programmers, which search for easy and quick solutions. Using Pd-extended tool, you can create music and multimedia projects for live performances.
Participants are requested to bring their computers with the software installed: http://puredata.info/

  • 6 pm – 7 pm – Programming for live performance : Your own code in Processing – hosted by Mauritius Seeger [Germany] *language: English 

This beginners workshop will introduce the java based processing language as a tool for customizing live performances and developing interactive artworks. participants will be introduced to the required basics and learn how to write their first program producing animated visual output. Depending on time and interests more advanced concepts (such as computer vision, sound analysis, OSC, MIDI and DMX control) will be introduced and explored with exercises. Requirements: please bring a PC or mac with the latest version of processing installed (download at www.processing.org)

Painting With Light is a free video mapping software application written by digital artist Alex May.
Participants are requested to bring their computers with the software installed: http://paintingwithlight.bigfug.com/

II. Academic workshops

This year there will be a special edition workshops in collaboration with Architecture Interior Design of Krakow Fine Art Academy for the students which will be finalized with an installation shown during III International Interior Design Biennale in March 2014.
